There are 3 golden rules to selling your business, they are not complicated and in fact fairly obvious!

- Up to date facts and figures
As with so many things in life, the first impression is so important. What is it that your mother always told you before that job interview….
“… you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression…”
Your facts and figures – even if they are not great, have them up to date and ready for the purchaser…. what looks worse poor figures that are accurate or no figures at all ???
Make sure your data matches what you have stated in your Sale Memorandum or Sale details and if there is a problem be up front about it. Being evasive or looking like your are hiding something will cast a shadow over this initial stage.
Click – is slightly more complicated! The ability to get on with and relate to the person who may buy your business is essential. If you and the purchaser don’t click – hands will never shake on a deal.
Remember – the Golden Rules are life’s rules which you have probably adhered to all you business life…… just remember them now!
